TabTrade - Is It Worth Opening an Account
Tab Trade — The Short Version
TabTrade launched in Q1 2026. Trading platform based in Saint Lucia, regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority. The guy behind it is Benjamin Boulter. Before this, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, an New Zealand-regulated broker.
The BlackBull connection matters. It suggests the founder is not figuring it out from scratch. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. It is more reassuring than someone with no brokerage experience.
TabTrade came out of the gate with Equinix data centre access in London. Same infrastructure banks and hedge funds use. Usually a new brokerage leads with marketing and bonuses. TabTrade led with infrastructure. Interesting choice.
Market coverage: forex, stock indices, gold, silver, commodities, stock CFDs, crypto, exchange-traded funds. Over 1,000 instruments. For a platform that launched in March 2026, the breadth is broad.
The Software
You get: MetaTrader 5, cTrader, and a browser platform. Both platforms from the same login. Many pick one platform. Access to both makes a difference. Pick what suits your style.
MT5 is the default. Complete charts, Expert Advisors, massive community. If you have used MetaTrader previously, it is familiar territory.
cTrader by Spotware is the alternative. Cleaner order book. Smoother chart interaction. Native automated trading. Plenty of traders prefer it once they try it.
Direct FIX connectivity is offered for automated strategies but needs the VIP account ($25,000 to open). TradingView is reportedly coming. That would round things out once it is live.
Accounts and Pricing
Three levels: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard account. 1.0 pip spreads. No commission. Simple. $0 to start. Suits people who want simple pricing.
Edge. True raw pricing from 0.0 pips average. Commission of $3.50 per side. What you actually pay: raw spread plus $7 per full lot. On liquid pairs, the actual interbank spread is often under 0.2 pips. So your all-in cost can be below 0.5 pips. That is good for a broker with no minimum deposit. Most brokers that have spreads this tight require a minimum deposit. TabTrade requires zero deposit.
VIP. $25,000 deposit required. FIX connectivity, sub-20ms execution, custom pricing. Not something the average person. Ignore this one unless you run serious volume.
Infrastructure
This is where this broker stands apart. Equinix data centres. Under 30ms on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. These are institutional numbers. The average platform quote a much wider range.
Does it matter? If you trade small timeframes, absolutely. The difference between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is profit or loss on tight trades. If you trade higher timeframes, it matters less. What matters is the setup is serious. That says something about priorities.
Pair that infrastructure with the Edge account pricing and what you get holds up. Few brokers with no minimum deposit run Equinix connectivity.
The FSRA Question
This is the part that matters. TabTrade is regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Saint Lucia. That is offshore. No FCA. No fund protection scheme. If that is a dealbreaker, stop reading. Plenty of tier-1 alternatives out there.
That said. The person running it spent years at BlackBull Markets, a tier-1 regulated broker. The execution setup is expensive. Scam brokers do not pay for Equinix connectivity. None of this guarantee anything. But factor into your decision.
What you are accepting: no FCA or ASIC safety net. For that: 1:1000 leverage, cheap spreads, $0 to start, Equinix execution. Whether that works is your call.
